CONNECTING THE DOTS
Creativity and entrepreneurship have always been a big part of my life. I started working in a glass studio in 2004 and learned to be a glassworker (art). I was surrounded by a lot of creativity and I started to sketch, paint and create my own objects. In this time I made different pieces of art in public spaces and started to organize exhibitions. After these years, I started to work for a design company to learn more about being a creative entrepreneur. After five inspiring years at this label, without painting at all, it felt like I had an entire museum of new works in my head. I really wanted to paint again. All I needed to do was get a brush and start.. and so I did.
In 2015 I moved to Amsterdam and got my own studio again. This studio has been an old classroom and it's perfect to work in. The light is beautifull and I can paint and create every day which makes me very excited!! It’s really good to be back in a studio and paint new pieces. I also believe we now live in an amazing time to be a creative entrepreneur. You can be an artist and run your own business at the same time. There is such a variety of platforms that allow you to get in touch with the whole world and you can have a close look how other companies or artists are working. This “shared economy” is a luxurious gift for my generation and it feels like I don’t have enough time to do all the things I want! Connecting the dots between creativity and entrepreneurship is where I get my energy!
Traveling, being independent and trusting my intuition brought me a lot and I hope that I can bring all those experiences to life on my new paintings. I can’t wait to see the whole collection together.
