Dutch designer and artist Jim van Overbeek (1960, Antwerp, Belgium), studied Art & Design in Amsterdam, but he was also Dutch National Champion Mountainbike and that's why his Pop-Art work often has a link with sports.
In 1990 he met well-known Japanese artist Hajime Kato who lived and worked in Paris and who encouraged him to experiment with materials and styles. Jim had many exhibitions in and outside The Netherlands.
The Philips Company showed his work during the Dutch Design Week and during a special presentation in the famous Rijksmuseum. Jim's wife Angel (1968, Nijmegen, The Netherlands), she studied gold and silversmithing, is also his partner and together they make energetic works of art, inspired by nature, street- and pop-art. The collaboration of JIM & ANGEL is special; two artists working in multiple layers on one canvas or object, with eye-catchers such as magical backgrounds (Angel) and graphic elements (Jim) all commanding immediate attention.
