Radhika Mīa

Radhika Mīa is an inspirational writer and a self-taught artist. As a philosopher and transcendentalist she aspires to overcome the limitations of the human mind and form - and her illustrative work attempts to reflects this mystical quality.
She uses bright colour and combinations to evoke emotions that express idealism, self-love, strength and renewal. She draws faces and the human form in odd shapes and colours – mainly to reflect the quirkiness that makes us all human and summons in us our own immortality.

What keeps her charged and curious is the unknown - not knowing where each artwork started will end up. Maybe that is why no two work of hers is similar. She likes to quote the French philosopher Michel Foucault ~ If you knew when you began a book what you would say at the end, do you think that you would have the courage to write it?
She is currently exploring mixed media and wishes to explore other mediums in the future. Her work is a two-stage process: the work is conceptualised and drawn using using pencil or charcoal and/or coloured pen or pencils or crayons and then she uses digital media to further colour, light, shade and stroke.
